Rising Star to Be Grilled over Bath with Film Producer

On Thursday, actor Charlotte MacInnes faced the Federal Court in Sydney for the second day of her testimony, suing Hollywood star Rebel Wilson for defamation over social media posts.
Wilson alleged in 2024 and 2025 that MacInnes complained about producer Amanda Ghost; MacInnes denies the conversation occurred, describing the September 2023 Bondi Beach event as a medical response where both women wore swimwear.
MacInnes revealed she feels "numb" reading abusive comments, while her boyfriend, actor Carlo Boumouglbay, testified she became "constantly on edge" and co-writer Hannah Reilly noted the actor experienced "vivid nightmares and panic attacks."
Wilson's barrister, Dauid Sibtain SC, argued MacInnes changed her story to ensure her career "progressed by appeasing Ms Ghost," maintaining the posts were not defamatory.
Despite the feud, MacInnes secured a $430,000 record deal with Atlantic Records in late 2025, which manager Shoshanna Stone testified was not timed to the trial; Ghost is expected to testify on Friday.
