Slovenian cyclist Urška Žigart (AG Insurance-Soudal) took fifth place in the first stage of the four-day race in Switzerland, achieving a career-high result in the world series. On the route around Gstaad (95.5 km), she was part of the first pursuit group, while home rider Marlen Reusser won. Žigart was 1:42 minutes behind her.
