Despite the government's own desire for rapid rearmament and massive pressure from the United States, the decision on more central capabilities for defense in the Arctic and the North Atlantic has been postponed.
At today's ESF session, the social partners proposed to the government the creation of a social agreement that would ensure that defense spending does not harm the welfare state or create additional burdens on the economy. They also expect to be included in the preparation of budget documents for the next two years at the earliest possible stage.
