Slovenian Railways (SŽ) celebrated the start of operations of new modern diesel multiple units from the Flirt series, manufactured by Swiss manufacturer Stadler, with a ceremonial run to Grosuplje. So far, they have taken delivery of two passenger multiple units, with 18 more to arrive by the end of the year.
On Friday, June 13, 2025, Slovenian Railways officially presented the first two of a total of twenty ordered Stadler SŽ610DMG diesel multiple units (subseries 100). Slovenian Railways (SŽ) today marked the start of operations of new modern diesel sets from the Flirt series by Swiss manufacturer Stadler with a ceremonial run to Grosuplje. SŽ Passenger Transport has so far taken over two sets, with 18 more to be delivered by the end of the year. This will mean the oldest sets will be withdrawn from service.
