Rathour Appointed Sri Lanka Batting Coach for T20 World Cup
Vikram Rathour, former India batting coach, joins Sri Lanka on consultancy basis to enhance batting ahead of T20 World Cup 2026, starting February 7, officials said.

- Previously, Rathour had been India's batting coach from September 2019 to July 2024 and currently serves as lead assistant coach at Rajasthan Royals, IPL, after a late 2024 stint with New Zealand Test team.
- Dasun Shanaka now leads the side, replacing Charith Asalanka as T20I captain and with Pramodya Wickramasinghe as selection head amid pre-tournament activity; Sri Lanka faces Ireland on February 8 at R Premadasa Stadium in Group B.
- The tournament opens February 7, with T20 World Cup 2026 co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka; after the Pakistan series, Sri Lanka faces England in three ODIs and three T20Is.
