- On Tuesday, Spotify announced it is rolling out narrated articles from major publications including Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, Vogue, Variety, Billboard, Vibe, GQ, WIRED, Vanity Fair and Pitchfork for its audiobook users, offering more than 650 long-form magazine articles in English.
- Following a deluge of announcements in recent weeks, Spotify pursues content diversification to compete with AI music startups and larger podcast rivals, amid an unusually busy stretch for its audiobook division.
- Colleen Prendergast, Licensing Lead at Spotify Audiobooks, said the articles extend existing audio offerings, with each narrated piece running under two hours and counting against the 15-hour monthly Premium allowance.
