Spirit Airlines to Stop Flying Out of San Diego in October

Spirit Airlines, the low-cost carrier that declared bankruptcy last week, will no longer fly out of San Diego and 11 other cities starting in October, the airline announced Thursday. The airline will end its service out of San Diego International Airport on Oct. 2. Spirit now has nonstop flights from San Diego to Las Vegas, Oakland and Detroit. Flights to Las Vegas start at $25.
