US Fast Food Chain Rivalling KFC to Open First Site in UK After 30 Years in Business
The chain has developed a UK-focused menu and plans more European sites as it targets growth beyond its 950 restaurants in the US and Middle East.
Louisiana-Born chicken brand Raising Cane is setting up shop on Coventry Street in London between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, with branded hoardings now signaling the long-awaited flagship launch is nearing.
Todd Graves launched the business in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 28, 1996, and the company now operates more than 950 restaurants across American and Middle East locations. Graves is fulfilling a long-held dream by bringing the brand to Britain.
The chain maintains a simple menu of five core items including Crispy Chicken Fingers and Craveable Cane Sauce, with customers notably praising the signature sauce as "next level." Celebrities like Snoop Dogg and Post Malone are known fans.
This London flagship marks the start of a wider European rollout, with the company exploring additional central London locations including Oxford Circus and The Strand. The company aims to establish this flagship within 18 months.
Raising Cane returns to the Britain market after previous branches closed by 2009, joining a wave of American fast-food competitors. Popeyes and Chick-fil-A have also announced expansion plans in Britain, intensifying competition in the sector.
