Kerala to legally challenge SIR; Opposition says it is ready to become a party
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced the state will legally challenge the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. All parties except the BJP supported the move, citing concerns that using the 2002 rolls is unscientific and has malicious intent ahead of local body elections.
Following Bihar, the Election Commission announced that the special intensive revision of the voter list will begin in 12 states including Tamil Nadu on November 4.
