Sparks Hit Hard as Kelsey Plum Sidelined Indefinitely, Out at Least 10 Games
Kelsey Plum is averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game, and the Sparks are 1-3 without her.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Sparks announced star guard Kelsey Plum will be sidelined for at least four weeks with a lower left leg injury, forcing her to miss at least 10 games.
Averaging a career-high 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game, Plum anchors the Sparks' offense; the team is 7-5 with her in the lineup but has struggled at 1-3 without her.
During Sunday's 98-97 win against the New York Liberty, Plum finished with her leg heavily wrapped and was seen limping, then missed practice Tuesday before the team's road trip.
Head coach Lynne Roberts confirmed that forward Cameron Brink also remains sidelined with an ankle sprain, with the team not expecting her return until mid-July.
With more than 36% of the 44-game regular season complete, Los Angeles is fighting for its first playoff appearance since 2020, hoping Plum can return in late July for the final stretch.
