- On Monday, the National Statistics Institute reported that Spain's annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 4.9% in September, rising from 4.3% in August, marking the highest rate since February 2023.

- To mitigate impact on households, the government reintroduced a diesel subsidy of 20 cents per litre at the start of September, while maintaining a five cents per litre petrol subsidy.

- Analysts expect inflation to remain above the 4% mark in Spain for the rest of the year, as the INE will publish final September readings on October 14.
