SpaceX Launches 3 AST SpaceMobile BlueBird Satellites on Falcon 9 Rocket From Cape Canaveral
The satellites will deploy over the next few weeks before joining AST SpaceMobile’s broader constellation, company officials said.
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched three AST SpaceMobile BlueBird satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 3:49 a.m.
The constellation delivers space-based broadband directly to unmodified smartphones, with AST SpaceMobile maintaining agreements with nearly 60 mobile networks globally including AT&T, Verizon, and Vodafone.
Falcon 9 booster B1077 completed its 30th flight, landing on the drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean more than 8.5 minutes after liftoff.
This mission marked the 50th orbital launch from Florida's Space Coast this year, reflecting the region's sustained pace of space operations across multiple providers.
AST SpaceMobile President Scott Wisniewski noted expanded manufacturing capacity positions the company for "beta services later this year," with production advancing through satellite 42.
