Southwest Adds New Daily Flights Between Ontario, Honolulu

Southwest Airlines will launch daily nonstop flights from Ontario to Honolulu in June 2026, adding two new Hawaii routes and increasing West Coast frequencies.

  • On Nov. 25, 2025, Southwest Airlines announced daily nonstop service from Ontario International Airport to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport launching June 4, 2026, with morning departures and evening returns.
  • Southwest Airlines is planning a big West Coast push with five new routes next summer, enabled by new airport terminals and onboard enhancements targeting Southern California markets served by Alaska Airlines.
  • Adding flights at ONT and BUR increases Southwest's Hawaii network to 10 mainland–HNL routes using Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets with 175 seats, in-seat power, and free WiFi for Rapid Rewards loyalty members.
  • With Southwest joining Alaska Airlines, Ontario International Airport now offers more direct Hawaii connectivity, a coup after ranking second in J.D. Power's 2025 North America Airport Satisfaction Survey.
  • The airline has hinted at Honolulu lounge plans even as the ONT launch arrives months before Ontario International Airport's 10th anniversary of return to local ownership, while Southwest plans 139 departures on peak days at San Diego International Airport in Aug–Sep 2026.
