South Korea conducts emergency response drill in Bolivia amid political unrest

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) reported that as of July 1, it will adjust the level of travel alert according to the level of risk in each country and raise the alert for Cochabamba, Bolivia, due to the intensification of protests and the emergence of organized crime.
“In the case of the province of Cochabamba, Bolivia, the travel alert has been raised from level 2 to level 3 due to the worsening security situation in the region,” says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea issued a formal warning to its citizens residing in Bolivia and recommended that they leave the city of Cochabamba “in the face of deteriorating security conditions”, as a result of increased protests against the government driven by evista sectors and the growing activity of organized crime in the region.
