EU countries can hand over part of their Patriot interceptors to Kieva and then receive a similar number of missiles from new American supplies.
On 28 September, EU defense ministers will meet to discuss which country will provide missiles to Ukraine for the Patriot system.
The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, has called on EU countries to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems in their arsenals.
