Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine help Morocco rally to beat Haiti 4-2 at the World Cup
Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine scored late as Morocco overcame two deficits and finished Group C on seven points.
On Wednesday, Morocco defeated Haiti 4-2 at Atlanta Stadium, advancing to the World Cup Round of 32 as Group C runners-up after a second-half comeback led by substitutes Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine.
Coach Mohamed Ouahbi aimed to top Group C by overcoming Brazil's goal difference, while already-eliminated Haiti sought their first tournament points in the final group match.
Haiti led twice following a Yassine Bounou own goal in the 10th minute and Wilson Isidor's stunning strike in the 43rd minute; substitutes Rahimi and Yassine secured Morocco's comeback.
Brazil defeated Scotland 3-0, leaving Morocco level on seven points with group winners Brazil but second in Group C on goal difference.
The Atlas Lions will face the Group F winners—Japan, the Netherlands, or Sweden—on Monday in Monterrey during the first knockout round.
