Jan Souček has filed a lawsuit against the Czech Television Council. He considers his dismissal, which the council accepted on May 6, to be illegal. Souček delivered the lawsuit through his legal representative on July 1. At the same time, he delivered a pre-suit notice to the new CEO of ČT, Hynek Chudárek, demanding payment of the bonus, specifically the amount of 1,326,400 crowns.
The Respekt website was the first to report this, according to which Souček is also demanding payment of his annual bonus for 2024 up to half of its maximum amount. In April, the council awarded him only a tenth of the annual bonus. Souček was at the head of the public television for a year and seven months, although he was elected for six years.
