PlayStation LEGO Set Celebrates Sony's Original Console
The set recreates the original 1995 console at near 1:1 scale and includes hidden Ape Escape and Gran Turismo scenes.
- Lego announced the LEGO PlayStation today, a 1,911-piece set replicating the original 1995 console that will retail for $180 starting October 1.
- While this marks the first brick-built PlayStation hardware, Lego and PlayStation have collaborated before. In 2022, Lego released a set based on Horizon Forbidden West; the Lego Horizon Adventures game followed.
- The build features mechanical buttons and hidden dioramas of The Ape Escape and The Gran Turismo inside the console. The Ape Escape scene includes an island with a simian; The Gran Turismo build contains a track and miniature cars.
- Measuring 10.5 inches in width when fully assembled, the LEGO PlayStation allows builders to customize The Ape Escape monkey's helmet with red or blue lighting options.
- This detailed set offers a charming tribute to gaming history, expanding the Lego and PlayStation partnership. Collectors can purchase the model beginning October 1.
