Kingsdown gains new strategic investor as Somnigroup takes minority stake

Somnigroup International has taken a passive minority stake in Mebane mattress maker Kingsdown, while Novacap retains its majority ownership. CEO Frank Hood said the move affirms confidence in Kingsdown’s 120-year legacy and growth plans. Somnigroup, formerly Tempur Sealy International, has recently expanded through acquisitions including Mattress Firm and U.K. retailer Dreams.
