SOMERS — The Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to 15 calls for service on Tuesday, including a motor vehicle fire and a rescue in the woods. At 4:48 a.m., crews were dispatched to Route 100 for a reported garbage truck fire. The driver had offloaded most of the contents before firefighters arrived.
