As the capital's "Benedikto turga" closes for reconstruction from September 1, some tenants have already moved out, and some, unable to find a new retail location, are temporarily suspending operations, the "Verslo žinios" (VŽ) portal announced on Wednesday.
According to the portal, traders were informed about the market's closure three months in advance, but they say that finding new premises for trading in the summer is not easy, and it is especially difficult for those small entrepreneurs whose only trading location was at the market.
As Benediktas Market prepares for reconstruction, some traders have already moved out, while others are counting down the last days until September 1, when the market will close. Small business owners say that finding and renting a new location in the capital during the summer is difficult, but sometimes it is better not to open than to open anywhere and in any way. Others are hoping for the best – to return to work at Benediktas Market.
