The fantastic Daiwa Pairs festival finished up last weekend in Dingle, after a week of great fishing camaraderie and competition. Check out the report here… Another fantastic week on the Dingle Peninsula comes to an end and great mates from all over the UK and Ireland part ways again for another year. Final results have been posted below together with a picture of pairs winners Paul Stevens and Darren Smith. The move to a 100% cash only in and payout again this year for all prizes was a great success with over 8200 euros paid out amongst the 50 anglers participating. The fishing this year was again challenging in places but the weather was generally good to us on match days. Inch produced a few fish with Bass again showing in reasonable numbers. Cappa produced a few dogs in Zones A to C with Zone D producing a few flounders and garfish. Ventry this year was very disappointing as for some reason dogfish were very few and far between and the usual ‘hotspot’ zone to the right of the stream only having four weighers. The other zones were dominated by Garfish on pop up rigs which saved the day for many! The specimen hunt produced some good fish this year for some, particularly a number of good Bull Huss, but the highlight has to be Billy Potter’s Stingray of 91cms across the wings which was estimated at around 70lbs (pic also attached). #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item1 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/825281491_1560921739171214_6955179713555880609_n-Copy-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item2 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/828391763_1560921749171213_7583520961835556033_n-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item3 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/825281972_1560921802504541_862682615008119901_n-Copy-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item4 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/825281949_1560921702504551_6439810508960475174_n-Copy-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item5 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/825281800_1560921695837885_226541319818687224_n-Copy-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item6 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/825281772_1560921812504540_5468477086320420417_n-Copy-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } #td_uid_1_6abee48ec7ceb .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item7 { background: url(https://fishinginireland.info/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/828599456_1560921822504539_7957072523076540832_n-80x60.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; } 1 of 7 If you want a week of top match fishing and specimen hunting in some seriously spectacular locations, great banter and friendship and the best Guinness in the world then do join us in 2027. Dates for 2027 will be published shortly once we fully understand the impact of the Ryder Cup in nearby Adare next September which is rumoured to be having a serious impact on accommodation prices at the moment so watch this space. On a final note we really need more support for this event next year as we can only continue to run it this way if we can get the numbers involved. If you are thinking of returning or fishing it for the first time it really is a magic week so get yourselves over here and join us! Go Fishing Keep an eye on the Daiwa Pairs Facebook page for updates on next year’s event.
