- On Tuesday, Ambassador Mohamed Hagi announced the Republic of Somaliland will soon open an embassy in Jerusalem, following Israel's formal recognition of the breakaway region in December 2025.
- Israel became the first country to formally recognize Somaliland as an independent state in December 2025; in return, Somaliland agreed to sign up to the Abraham Accords.
- Foreign Minister Gideon Saar confirmed Israel will also establish an embassy in Hargeisa, with the Somaliland Embassy becoming the eighth diplomatic mission located in Jerusalem.
