EUROPEAN UNION, JUL 09 – Solar power generated 22.1% of the EU's electricity in June 2025, surpassing nuclear and wind amid record solar outputs and a historic low in coal use, Ember reported.
- In June 2025, solar power generated 22.1 percent of the EU's electricity, surpassing nuclear and fossil fuels.
- Thirteen EU member states, including the Netherlands with 40.5 percent and Greece with 35.1 percent, set monthly solar power records.
- Electricity from coal fell to 6.1 percent, the lowest level on record, down from 8.8 percent a year earlier.
