Softer jobs data quiets Wall St rate-hike expectations

- Mega-Cap stocks led gains, with Tesla gaining 4.7 per cent and Nvidia up 1.3 per cent, while Nike stumbled 3.6 per cent and data storage providers Western Digital and Seagate Technology tumbled about 10 per cent.
- Robert Bernstone, head of trading at SummitTX Capital in New York, said, "Today's news was OK insofar as it means the economy isn't roaring," reflecting cautious optimism among traders.
- Despite Friday gains, the Dow fell 1.26 per cent for the week while the Nasdaq rose 0.45 per cent, as investors brace for potential market squeezes through year-end.
