House fire prompts students' evacuation from temporary classroom building

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Students at a Shreveport school were evacuated from their temporary classroom building Thursday afternoon because of smoke from a nearby house fire.

Social Science Centre evacuated after fire, building remains closed

A fire in the Social Science Centre on Thursday afternoon triggered an evacuation, interrupting some exams. Western said the building remains closed until further notice and students with exams scheduled there will receive updates from the Office of the Registrar.
