Snowflake Commits $6B to AWS as It Pushes Deeper Into AI

The multi-year deal expands product integrations, customer success programs and AWS Marketplace sales as Snowflake says lifetime AWS Marketplace sales topped $7 billion.

  • Snowflake signed a $6 billion multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services on Wednesday, covering AWS Graviton compute and GPU-accelerated EC2 instances for AI model training and inference.
  • Founded on AWS 11 years ago, Snowflake is deepening its collaboration to help customers move from AI experimentation to production-scale outcomes amid accelerating enterprise demand for data and AI workloads.
  • With more than 13,900 customers using its Data Cloud, Snowflake has surpassed $7 billion in lifetime AWS Marketplace sales and is expanding into 10 new regions, including New Zealand and South Africa.
  • Customers like Fetch and Hex are deploying AI applications using Cortex. "With Snowflake Cortex AI, we've deployed a semantic agent," said Daniel Block, General Manager of Revenue and Partnerships, Fetch.
  • CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy stated, "We are moving into the era of the agentic enterprise," where AI systems help organizations coordinate workflows—a vision Snowflake and AWS will demonstrate at Snowflake Summit.
