Second fire breaks out along Big Sur coast

The Plaskett Fire broke out Wednesday morning along the Big Sur coast, south of the Timber Fire, which has been burning for more than two weeks.

A new fire ignites to the south in Big Sur near Gorda leading to a new evacuation order and warning.

As the Timber Fire continues to burn at only 23 percent contained, the Plaskett Fire erupted to the south on Wednesday, Aug. 26, two miles east of Plaskett and just a little northeast of Gorda.
