Smithers approves semi-permanent shelter on Third Avenue

The temporary winter shelter that was in the old Fabrications building on Third Avenue will reopen in the fall and become semi-permanent. At a special meeting of Smithers town council on June 16, discussion focussed on the proposal for the shelter by BC Housing to address homelessness.
