Small wildfire west of Sooke burning out of control
CAPITAL REGIONAL DISTRICT, BRITISH COLUMBIA, JUL 14 – The Grass Lake fire, covering 1.2 hectares, is suspected to be human-caused and is being contained by 16 firefighters and one helicopter, officials said.

- An update shared Tuesday evening, BC Wildfire Service projected the fire will remain within its current perimeter, noting there are 67 active wildfires throughout BC and Sooke’s fire danger rating is currently at extreme.
