A small earthquake was recorded early Monday morning in Independence County. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the magnitude 2.4 quake happened at 2:04 Monday morning. It was centered about three miles southwest of Southside, or about 29 miles north of Searcy, at a depth of about seven-and-a-half miles.
