SLIPKNOT Surprise-Releases New Single 'Arsenal'
- Slipknot released their new single "Arsenal" on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show With Jack Saunders, marking the masked metal band's first new music in more than three years.
- The release debuts on the band's own est Records label following significant lineup changes, including the departures of Sid Wilson and Craig Jones and the addition of drummer Eloy Casagrande.
- Frontman Corey Taylor describes the track as "pummelling," praising its "hyperactivity" and "sublime drop," while the song recalls early Mr. Bungle-influenced experimental material with chaotic arrangements.
- Percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan directed the accompanying music video, which features actor Jackson White and serves as the primary visual companion to the single.
- Earlier this year in April, the band released Look Outside Your Window, an experimental album recorded during 2008 sessions that Crahan noted were split by internal studio politics.
