‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7’ Will Make BO6 Players Leave Their Silly Skins Behind
Activision and Treyarch will exclude Black Ops 6 skins and weapons from Black Ops 7 to maintain authenticity, while preserving Double XP tokens and GobbleGums progression benefits, the studio said.
- In an August community update, Treyarch announced operators, skins, and weapons from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will not transfer to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, launching November 14.
- Following strong community feedback, Treyarch and Raven Software said Black Ops 7 must feel authentic, responding to concerns over Call of Duty's identity and competition from Battlefield 6's grounded cosmetics.
- Treyarch clarified that Warzone content remains usable, Double XP tokens and GobbleGums carry forward, and RICOCHET anti-cheat requires Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 on PC from November 14.
- Player response has been largely negative, with many accusing Activision of planning to resell skins and microtransaction purchasers expressing anger, though dedicated Call of Duty fans welcomed the move.
- Developers say more will be revealed at Call of Duty: NEXT on September 30, with Early Access Beta on October 2 and Open Beta on October 5, ahead of Battlefield 6's October 10 arrival, intensifying competition.
