NVIDIA and SK Hynix Announce Multiyear Technology Partnership to Advance Memory for AI Factories
The companies will co-develop memory for Vera Rubin AI supercomputers and other Nvidia systems, with no deal value disclosed.
On Monday, Nvidia Corp. and SK Hynix unveiled a multiyear technology partnership to co-develop next-generation memory for Nvidia's Vera Rubin AI supercomputers, addressing critical supply needs for advanced computing systems.
Surging global demand for AI infrastructure has created persistent memory shortages, prompting Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang to secure stable, long-term supply agreements supporting the expanding AI factory buildout.
Huang and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won solidified the collaboration during a Seoul dinner, expanding work to include HBM4 memory, Vera CPUs, and RTX Spark PCs for coming years.
Beyond the memory deal, Nvidia launched collaborations with Naver Corp. and Doosan Group on robotics, alongside an agreement with SK Telecom to build a gigawatt-scale AI cloud launching in 2027.
These sovereign AI projects aim to support enterprises across Asia as Nvidia's market value tops $5 trillion, cementing the company's role in the next industrial revolution for years to come.
Nvidia and SK Hynix have agreed to collaborate for several years in the design and supply of the next generations of memory for artificial intelligence. This deal reinforces the South Korean group against its great rival, Samsung Electronics, in a market in full expansion.
