The event would have been caused by an immersion syndrome, according to the newspaper La Verdad de Murcia. Several ambulances had moved to the site, which had taken the victims to the Santa Lucía hospital, for which they required collaboration from the local police of Cartagena.According to Onda Regional, those affected were inside the hyperbaric chamber of the military facility itself when the incident occurred.
