- PAGASA reported that Emong has intensified, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gusts of up to 80 km/h as of Wednesday afternoon.
- Classes and government work in Metro Manila and 35 provinces have been suspended due to the storm's expected impact, including heavy rain and gusty winds.
- Emong is forecasted to strengthen further and may make landfall in Ilocos Sur, La Union, or Pangasinan by Thursday evening or early Friday morning.
