Man Charged After 4-Year-Old Girl Taken from New York Laundromat
ICE detained Carlos Corte-Corte after a 4-year-old girl was found in a nearby library play area, police said.
- On March 28, local police arrested 38-year-old Carlos Corte-Corte for allegedly kidnapping a 4-year-old girl from the Laundry Kingdom laundromat in Patchogue, Long Island.
- After local authorities released Corte-Corte with an ankle monitor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement re-arrested him on March 31, placing him in removal proceedings.
- Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis criticized New York's sanctuary policies, stating they allow criminal immigrants to "prey on more innocent children rather than cooperate with ICE law enforcement."
