US Citizen Among Eight Druze Family Members Executed During Syria’s Sectarian Violence
SUWAYDA PROVINCE, SOUTHERN SYRIA, JUL 21 – Sectarian clashes in southern Syria have led to over 194 death sentences and hostage-taking, prompting Israel to conduct airstrikes against Islamist militants threatening the Druze community.
- On July 17, militants executed eight Druze men in Suwayda province, marching captives to Tishreen Square and firing at point-blank range.
- Sectarian clashes erupted on July 13 between Druze and Bedouin tribes, following the fall of Assad’s regime and leaving hundreds dead.
