NEW YORK, JUL 31 – The Liberty played with only eight players due to multiple injuries and illness, extending their losing streak to three games against the Minnesota Lynx, who improved to a 22-5 record.
- In a rematch of the 2024 WNBA Finals Wednesday, the Lynx defeated the Liberty 100-93, dropping New York to its third straight loss.
- Shorthanded due to injuries, the Liberty took the floor with Breanna Stewart, Kennedy Burke, and Nyara Sabally unavailable; Natasha Cloud played after feeling unwell.
- Minnesota's Napheesa Collier, a leading MVP candidate, scored 30 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks as the Lynx shot 49.3% and hit a season-high 15 three-pointers.
- As a result, the Liberty trail the Lynx by five games in the standings, with a loss extending their skid to three games.
