ATLANTA, GEORGIA, JUL 14 – Shohei Ohtani leads the National League batting order as designated hitter with Ronald Acuña Jr. batting second, reflecting their standout season performances, MLB announced.
- Tuesday night at Truist Park, Shohei Ohtani will bat leadoff as the NL's designated hitter, followed by Ronald Acuña Jr.
- Ohtani previously led off for the AL in 2021 as the starting pitcher, then hit leadoff in 2022 and served as the NL's No. 2 hitter last year after joining the Dodgers.
- The Pirates’ 23-year-old right-hander opens the NL’s pitching, entering with a 2.01 ERA despite a 4-8 record, according to MLB.
- Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said `super talented, are going to be faces of this game`, adding that fans can root for Ohtani and Acuña.
