Heavy rain and melting snow have caused local flooding in Slovakia. The adverse weather, especially in the central part of the country, has affected road and rail transport. There is an increased avalanche risk in the Low Tatras after heavy snowfall, Slovak authorities have reported.
The flood preparedness level has been raised to level three on the Ipolytarnóc section of the Ipoly River: the settlement is being protected with sandbags.
