Summary
On Monday, June 29, at 10:19 a.m., Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the vicinity of the Knob Stone Trailhead near Leota in southwestern Scott County near the Scott-Washington County line, in reference to an abandoned vehicle. When they arrived, Deputies located the vehicle and began conducting an investigation at the scene. Indiana Conservation Officers were notified and responded to the area to assist with the search. A deceased male was discovered during the search. The body was recovered and a forensic examination was scheduled, seeking a possible cause of death and a positive identification of the remains. However police are awaiting the results of the forensic examination, toxicology, and DNA testing to confirm.
