After announcing it in March at the Banking Convention, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum finally formalized her intention to digitize the economy in order to reduce the use of cash in the country. Sheinbaum sent to the Chamber of Deputies the Digital Economy Bill for Digital and Electronic Payments, which was published in the Parliamentary Gazette as part of the reforms that will accompany the 2027 Economic Package of the Ministry of Finance.
