The City of Shawnee is looking to close a pedestrian path near a railroad crossing in a western part of the city to address complaints from residents about train noises. At a Shawnee City Council meeting on Feb. 23, Shawnee Assistant City Manager Lauren Grashoff announced that the city is pursuing erecting barriers around the railroad in the 4400 block of Lakecrest Drive so that trains no longer have to make noise when they stop or pass through.…
