Nike welcomed the reigning NBA MVP after Gilgeous-Alexander teased the switch on Instagram, joining six active NBA players with signature lines.
- On Tuesday, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander announced he has moved from Converse to Nike after six years with the brand.
- Gilgeous-Alexander previously played as a Nike athlete after being drafted in 2018, then left in 2020 before signing with Converse in 2024 to serve as Creative Director of Converse Basketball.
- During the 2025-26 campaign, the All-Star averaged 31.1 points while shooting 55.3 percent from the field; his Shai 001 signature sneaker launched in 2025 with multiple successful colorways.
