Sexual assault trial begins for 'Trailer Park Boys' actor Mike Smith
The actor has pleaded not guilty, and court documents bar him from contacting the complainant or visiting her home, work or school.
On Thursday, a three-day sexual assault trial begins in DARTMOUTH for Nova Scotia-based actor Mike Smith, best known for playing Bubbles on the TV comedy "Trailer Park Boys."
Smith has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault stemming from an alleged 2017 incident; he was charged on Oct. 2, 2025, though court documents provide minimal details.
Trailer Park Boys Inc., where Smith was one of three directors, previously stated the firm was aware of the allegations; the company confirmed last year Smith stepped away from his role.
Court documents mandate that Smith must not visit or communicate with the complainant's home, work, or school; the complainant's identity is protected by a standard court-ordered publication ban.
These allegations have yet to be tested in court, with the three-day proceedings in DARTMOUTH set to determine the facts of the case following the 2017 incident and 2025 charges.
