Sex Offender Accused of Filming Children Changing Clothes at Boston Frog Pond
Boston police say Mark Sullivan, 60, was arrested after witnesses reported he used camera sunglasses and a cellphone to record children.
Boston Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Mark Sullivan, 60, of Brockton, on Tuesday morning for allegedly using camera sunglasses to record children at the Boston Common Frog Pond last Friday.
After observing him scanning children with a hidden camera, witnesses confronted Sullivan last Friday, prompting him to flee. Police later identified Sullivan as a Level 3 sex offender on the Sex Offender Registry.
Multiple witnesses reported Sullivan recorded a family attempting to change their children, who were "wrappy in a towel for privacy." Police seized the damaged glasses and cellphone as evidence.
During Tuesday's arraignment in Boston Municipal Court, the judge ordered Sullivan held on $250,000 bail. The prosecutor called him a "habitual offender," citing his record of ten child sex convictions.
If Sullivan posts bail, he faces house arrest with GPS monitoring, restricted internet access, and a ban on contacting children or entering Boston. He returns to court September 15.
