World champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden handed Olympic gold medallist Julien Alfred her first loss of the season to win the women's 100 metres at the Silesia Diamond League on Sunday, with Oblique Seville storming to victory in the men's sprint.

The assembled field was outstanding in Poland. Of the 260 athletes appearing in Silesia, 55 were Olympic medallists, 101 have made the podium at world championships, and 68 were European championships medallists.
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden dominated the 100m of the Silesian Diamond League meeting when Armand Duplantis continued on his launch at the pole. Frenchman Agathe Guillemot had his say in a 1500m high flight.
