Severed Head Dumped on Bengaluru Cricket Field; Body Missing, Bike Trail Under Scanner

- On Wednesday morning, a security guard discovered a human head on a cricket ground in Bengaluru's Kodathi village near Varthur, initially sparking murder suspicions. Police later confirmed the remains were linked to a fatal railway accident occurring Tuesday night.
- The Baiyappanahalli Railway Police resolved the mystery after locating a headless body on tracks about 300 metres from the cricket ground. Officers suspect the victim was struck by a train on Tuesday night, severing his head upon impact.
- Authorities identified the deceased as 25-year-old Vishwanath, a native of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. Police suspect stray dogs dragged the severed head nearly 200 metres from the railway tracks to the playground where residents discovered it.
- Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of Police Saidulu Adavath stated officials registered a case of unnatural death. Personnel from Varthur Police, Scene of Crime Officer , and Forensic Science Laboratory teams conducted detailed examinations at the scene.
- Investigators are exploring the possibility of suicide, as the man appears to have been struck by a train. The Baiyappanahalli Railway Police have notified the victim's family while continuing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
