- Williams returns to the US Open for the first time since 2022, while Alcaraz resumes action following an April wrist injury. The USTA revamped the mixed doubles tournament last year into a 16-team event to attract top singles players.
- The mixed doubles main draw begins on Tuesday, with the winning team sharing $1 million. The competition features pairings including Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic, alongside Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz.
- Additional wild cards were granted to Emma Navarro and Tommy Paul, Karolina Muchova and Jakub Mensik, and defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori. The USTA adjusted the field following several player withdrawals.
- Competition for the mixed doubles title runs from August 24 to 26, while the remaining two spots will be determined through a qualifying tournament on Monday. Williams is not planning to play singles in New York.
